Innovate to Succeed is a new free coaching service for SMEs who want to increase their effectiveness in generating and commercialising ideas. Launched in May 2016, companies that qualify will receive an in-depth diagnostic assessment of innovation management capability from an expert Innovation Advisor who then designs and delivers a bespoke package of support. Cornwall programmes are split into two elements tailored to the specific needs of businesses at different stages of development. These elements are ‘Starting a High Growth Business‘ and ‘Coaching for High Growth‘.
Starting a High Growth Business is for young companies (under 12 months old) or individuals with a good business idea who want to get started and could benefit from hands on assistance.
Coaching for High Growth also offers intensive coaching and assistance to qualifying SME’s to support a realisation of growth potential.
We help business to grow through innovation. That can be innovation in business models, services and processes or the more well-known product innovation. Our innovation specialists focus on: scouting for innovation, searching for partners, securing funds, developing your innovation potential and connecting with large companies (Open Innovation). High growth businesses come in all shapes and sizes but the one thing that they have in common is that they are all great at innovating. Our innovation specialists have worked with over 2000 companies to help them achieve their innovation potential.
Investment Services: OIS manages three Investment Networks that raise funding for start-up and growing companies throughout the UK. The networks include Oxford Investment Opportunity Network, the Thames Valley Investment Network and Oxford Early Investments, which collectively have helped over 325 companies raise £50 million. We have very recently completed the investment of our first SEIS fund – raising over £340k (exceeding our expectations of a £250k target) which was invested in 7 SMEs.

Supporting Growth, Innovation and Export in Swindon and Wiltshire; delivered under the Swindon and Wiltshire Growth Hub to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium sized enterprises:
- Promoting entrepreneurship, by facilitating the economic exploitation of new ideas and fostering the creation of new firms.
- Supporting the capacity of SMEs to grow in regional, national and international markets.
Oxford Innovation is a member of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the world’s largest network of 600 business support organisations that specialize in helping companies to grow through innovation, access to finance and internationalisation support. We lead the South East delivery and are also operating the monitoring and insights function across the entire UK delivery. The Network is made up of 2,000 experts spanning 60 countries and provides instant access to markets and support. As a result, we are able to access additional national and international contacts and services from Innovation Advisers ranging from support with accessing sources of European funding and securing international business partners, to sourcing and licensing of new technologies.
With the success of the first SEIS Fund that has seven companies in the portfolio, OION will again partner with Innvotec to launch a second SEIS fund that wil be invested over the coming months.
The OION 2016 SEIS FUND “The Fund” is promoted and managed by Innvotec Ltd, a long-established, FCA regulated Alternative Investment Fund Manager, specialising in investment in start-up and early-stage businesses. Innvotec has a record of raising and managing successful EIS and SEIS Funds.
The Fund is the second in a proposed series of annual SEIS funds dedicated to investing in start-up and young companies identified by OION Ltd. The first fund has a diverse group of sectors including MedTech, FinTech and FMCG. The porfolio includes Fourth State Medicine, iNova, KokoNata, GamerDating and Pebrand.
